I just realized that I had 2005 instead of 2006 for the past month’s entries. I fixed the error. Man I love how New Years does that to you. Today I got a fish, a betta fish. I bought it at PETCO with the gift certificate I got from Phil and Tessa. I have no idea what to name it though. Any ideas? Today I also bought this cool program from AOL Instant Messenger. I know- buy a program? I couldn’t find anything like it online and it was only $5 so I did it. If you check my profile it displays what iTunes song I’m listening to in real time. I love it. It also gives AIM a lot more features . This week I’ve really settled into the area. I’ve been driving around a lot to get an idea how to get places. I’ve been doing a lot of shopping for things for my room. I noticed there’s a really big asian population here. It’s totally different from being the only one in MA to seeing a lot of them around. In fact there’s Pho restaurants everywhere, four within 10 minutes of my house and 1 near my workplace. I’d make my Mom proud to eat there sometime. I got my uncle hooked on 24. He’s been watching Season 4 all week. I’m proud to pass on the action to others. So how did my first week of internship go? Pretty good. The McGinn group is a beautiful office filled with a lot of Presidential Memorabilia. There’s a signed copy of the bill that impeached President Clinton amongst the more current items. There’s also a bunch of letters from various Presidents and other items. It’s all over the walls. I got my own cubicle which I decorated with photos and stuff. It’s all posted in the photo gallery. The first couple of days I took to getting used to what my duties were and what everybody does. A lot of our work is media analysis and stuff- so everyone reads magazines and watches a lot of TV. It’s really cool. We tape a lot of shows, to watch later and archive, so it’s kinda like a human TiVo in my office. Dan McGinn, the big boss, travels around the country advising big companies that need big advice. The clients are so big I can’t tell you who they are. I signed a confidentiality agreement. So what do I do? I do some editing, along with some logging, most of my work is around editing and the editing suite and managing the taping of several programs that we choose on a daily basis. The shows are later analyzed for clips. The people there are all really nice. I hope to get to know all of them very well. I do think it’s going to be a blast working there. Ok well I’m hungry. Time to get some dinner. Peace.
