I love 24. I also love the Patriots. Put them together in one weekend and I’m a happy camper. But back to that later.
I had a pretty eventful week. Tuesday was movie night with Sarah/Doug/Lindsay’s house. We watched Little Miss Sunshine; it was the typical quirky independent film. I liked it and had my share of laughs but it really didn’t wow me too much. Wednesday I had a little happy hour action with some of my work favorites at Ragtime. Friday I watched Beerfest with Carolyn, Broken Lizard makes some good stuff. Even though I don’t think I could drink beer from a boot much less complete a power hour.
Saturday I went to see Monster Jam in the McGinn suite. It was my first Monster Truck event, and I’ll have to say it was pretty memorable. Grave Digger totally dominated the scene. He crushed stuff like there was no tomorrow. They had motorcycles and ATVs as well; even though I think the dramatics of the racers afterwards is pretty fake. After the show Carolyn and Caroline and I got some BBQ and walked from the Verizon Center to The Mall- why? Because we could, that’s what I love about DC, it’s pretty walkable.
That night I went out with the crew to Silver Spring to visit a house party. It wasn’t that bad, had some interesting conversations about cars and ended the night at McGinty’s.
Today I shopped some more and got some new sunglasses amongst other things. I made it back here in time to see the Patriots game- I had to leave it at the end to catch the 24 season premiere- I love that Jack is back! After watching five seasons I’m seeing a pattern where Jack always has to have grown a beard in between seasons and thus has to shave it off. I can’t wait to see the next two episodes tomorrow.
Talking about TV to watch I’ve picked up a couple of shows: The Apprentice: LA and Armed and Famous. I’ve watched them at work last week and they might get added to the weekly line-up; however the last thing I want to be doing is adding more TV in my life. I really don’t watch a lot when I’m at home but I’m busy enough as it is.
Tomorrow I have to work on my car a bit- one of my hubcaps went missing and now I gotta replace them all, can’t be riding dirty like that. Next weekend is shaping up pretty good, especially on Saturday- and it’ll be here quicker than usual thanks to Martin Luther King! Thanks MLK!
