News Feed = Newspaper

by Patrick on April 23, 2007

I have learned a lot from Facebook. By that, I mean I have learned a lot about people. Besides the interests, hobbies, and other “personal info”, thanks to the Facebook News Feed, I can keep up to date on major developments on the lives of my friends, anything from breakups, to hookups, to new profile photos. I learned that Mallory was engaged from Facebook. As I write this I see Christina changed her status from engaged to married- only hours after arriving at her honeymoon destination. The News Feed has become our substitute of newspaper announcement. It goes even so far as to display a photo of a couple when one declares themselves a couple.

I write this because Krissy needs to update her status, it’s already been twelve hours since I found out she got engaged and I was expecting a Facebook update like whoa.
