Greased Lightning

No I’m not talking about the musical, Mary probably got excited for two seconds after reading the heading. I was referring to Lightning Racer at Hershey Park, probably one of my favorite wooden coasters there.

Besides my monthly haircut, Forth of July, and movies with Rebecca; the highlight of my week was going to Hershey, PA. A bunch of us spent the ENTIRE day there riding various roller coasters. It was a hot day, I consumed three bottles of water and two bottles of Gatorade through out the entire day. When I got home last night my legs were definitely tired from walking everywhere- but I had lots of fun doing nothing but going on roller coaster after roller coaster. That night there was also a Fireworks show that was way better than last Wednesday’s rainy adventure. The show was loud, bright, and spectacular. On Wednesday a bunch of us drove up to the top of the parking garage to see different fireworks from different towns all in one spot- it had the potential to be cool but the fireworks were a bit off in the distance and it was rainy. The show in Hershey was launched probably a mile a way- so were close and had an excellent view. The night was cloud-less and was a perfect canvas for the display.

On Friday I got to spend time with Rebecca and saw Live Free or Die Hard. It was a great action flick that was based on an article on an article by John Carlin. The premise is a view of what could happen if hackers took down the American Infrastructure- a real threat in today’s information age. I loved the fact that most of it took place here in Washington DC. I’m a geek when I can point to stuff and say, “I’ve been there!”

Not only did I see a trailer for The Kingdom, a movie that I saw being filmed on the National Mall; but I saw a trailer for Superbad, something that looks like a must see in my future.

I should get out and watch more movies.

Yea, I went to Hershey Park when that Lightening racer first opened, and it’s pretty freakin’ sweet. Btw, I bought a Nintendo DS Lite… and I’ll probably save up money for a Wii towards the end of summer.
