Delegate Counts

by Patrick on February 10, 2008

Along the line of Election excitement here in the district, a big topic of discussion during all these primaries is the delegate count. Ultimately these primaries determine how many delegates are pledged to each candidate when they all meet at the national convention in the summer.

I think it’s really interesting that there the totals reported vary dependning on who you ask.

I decided to compare some numbers as of now from the following sites (I only count pledged primary delegates and not superdelegates.):

Obama Delegate Counts

Barackobama.com: 910

CNN: 908

MSNBC: 855

Fox News: 1,054

Clinton Delegate Counts

Barackobama.com: 882

CNN: 877

MSNBC: 861

Fox News: 1,084

You can see Barack’s website and CNN say that Barack is in the lead whle MSNBC and Fox News say Hillary still has a small lead. Obviously these sites may not all have the same updated information but it’s interesting to see the numbers.

I can’t wait until the vote comes down to Puerto Rico! I love a country that has to rely on Puerto Rico to choose the next president of the United States. Now that’s cool!
    Go Obama!
