DMB Week 2008 Part 2

video_stillAfter the DMB show at SPAC, we were all rather hungry so we stopped by the local McDonald’s for a late night snack. I was hungry so I got the Double Quater Pounder. Normally that would of been ok except I forgot to mention I stopped by Roy Rogers (again) for brunch after leaving NYC. My meals on this trip area already looking terrible.

So after a night of DMB in Saratoga I gather my things and make a return trip back to NYC. I drove straight to Coney Island to meet my sister and her boyfriend Mike. The area was holding its annual Mermaid Parade. I spent most of the time trying to find a place to park- one of the most frusterating things about New York. After finally finding a space I got to walk along the boardwalk and see the amusment parks and stands. There was even an empty alleyway that was home to “Shoot The Feak.”

russianstandardbtl-wI also had a chance to walk down Brighton Beach, a primarily European/Russian community. Diana must love that place. We walked into a Russian liquor store and got cheap bottles of what was supposedly the best Vodka in Russia. I loved how it was on sale- in Soviet Russia you don’t drink the Vodka, the Vodka drinks you! After buying our bottles we all walked out and saw that the streets have erupted in some sort of chaos. Cars were honking for no apparent reason and people were walking around waiving Russian flags. I later found out that Russia beat the Netherlands in the Euro Cup Semi-Finals. Man the Russians must love their Futbol.

That night we went out to 42nd Street to see The Happening. I have already felt that M. Night Shyamalan hasn’t been living up to the hype and after watching the film I walked out wishing for more. On the way back to Harlem I saw the Scientology center right off of Times Square and I laughed.

Ok I’ll post the last part soon.
