I can’t exactly how I ran across this article from the Washingtonian, but they recently came out with their annual “Best Of” list. The most I’ve seen of it is the clippings posted at the local Five Guys. They do make great burgers and every year they seem to win that award. They did again in the latest list but here’s some other Best/Worst winners that I have to comment on.
Best Pizza: Z Pizza – I’ve never had their pizza but a shop just opened down the street from me, sounds like I need to check it out.
Best Place To Take Out-Of-Towners: Old Ebbitt Grill – I recently walked by this restuarant while on a work trip, it looks way too posh for me to take my friends there.
Best Dive Bar: Dan’s Cafe – There is no arguement that Dan’s Cafe is by far the diviest bar I’ve been too- if there’s was something beyond Dive Bar I’d call this place that. I’d laugh if I ever walk in there and see a little certificate hung up amongst the dank.
Great Beach Getaway: The Outer Banks (2nd) – Hell ya it’s a great place to go, that’s why I go there every year!
Most Overrated Bar: Smith Point (1st) Local 16 (2nd) – Right on with the Smith Point call, but I’m kinda sad Local 16 is up there. It’s a place I like to frequent when I decide to go to U-Street. I didn’t know it was all that overrated. Maybe I’m a prep after all.
