I’ve eaten four hot pockets in the past three days.
I should be dead by now but luckily I’ve been doing lots of moving so I’ve been able to burn them all off. The recent hot pocket binge has been in an effort to finish off the frozen food I have here on Cleveland Street.
As you know from my previous post I am moving this weekend to a new house on Highland Street- today I cleaned the new place and made some runs to move in some initial stuff. I have probably 75% done and I’ll finish the rest Sunday morning and will include moving the most challenging items.
Moving hasn’t been too hard, I just approach it as the many times I’ve moved in between semesters in college. In reality I’ve still kept my life confined to my room here. However as I unpack at the new place I’ve been able to take advantage of a completely empty house, and put things all over the place. I’ll hate the day I move out again.
On to other things I’ve done this week.
The Steelers/Redskins game was great as expected. Anything I do with Falkor is a great time. Doug and Katie came along too and had way better seats, although my seats came with free food. As for the game I couldn’t believe how many people from Pittsburgh came down to cheer for the Steelers. From above I could see a sea of Terrible Towels. I haven’t seen a visitor crowd so big since the last Red Sox game at Camden Yards.
I spent my post-election night with Carrie. I took her out bowling and I have to say that I really do suck at it. Cards, Billiards, and Bowling- the three social skills I’d love to improve in. I should make that a life goal.
Thursday I got to hang out with some work friends at Chandra’s “see you later” happy hour at Ragtime. Chanelle even showed up and was all “gooded up.” I really miss happy hours with co-workers, or maybe happy hours in general. Once my life gets back on track I have to make that a goal.
Last night I got went to the Knicks/Wizards game with Adam and Mattie. I can’t believe the Wizards are still win-less while the Knicks are over .500. Clarence has a bet in the office on the Knicks finishing the season over .500 and I can’t believe that it’s going to happen- but they are looking good to start the season.
After the game we met up with Rebecca and we had a drink at Clyde’s. It was my first time there and it was covered in rich mahogany. I felt like I needed a popped collar just to fit in. I have a feeling my friend Rachel would love that place.
So my life hasn’t really calmed down since my work travel but I after this move and some time off I really think I’m on my way. I’m going to live in a new house and I’ll be ready to kick-start my life back into gear.
