That’s what I think when I read this blog post I found on The Best Places to Make Out in Washington DC. It’s an interesting list and it may become a goal of mine for 2009. All I can say is kissing is fun and it’s always more fun to make out somewhere nice and not at the same dank bar that you and the girl got drunk at. Making out in a taxi is pretty fun since it freaks out the driver.
But enough about kissing and telling, let’s talk about the past week:
Monday I took Melissa to the Newsuem to attend a Wizards Meet and Greet event. While I was somewhat excited to meet some of the players, I was also excited to get into the Newsuem (where admission usually costs an arm and a leg.)
The players we got to meet were based on the color of our tickets. I was psyched to find out I would be getting autographs from Gilbert Arenas, Oleksiy Pecherov, and Nick Young. While waiting in line I figured I would share the wealth and called up Chanelle. It was an extremely risky move but as I walked up to Gilbert and he started to sign a photograph; I handed him my phone and told him it was his all-time favorite fan. Chanelle proceeded to freak out. The conversation really wasn’t intelligible, mainly consisting of “OMG- is this him, OMG- is this him?!?!” Gilbert’s handlers really didn’t like the move. Nick Young thought it was cool.
Melissa and I enjoyed the Newseum, the 9/11 exhibit was really hard hitting. I really wanna go back when all the exhibits are open- too bad it costs a pretty penny to get in there. What was open and free was there “Be A Reporter” green screen exhibit. I shot a short, silly video which you can laugh at:
Tuesday I spent the entire day cleaning the house- more on why later this week.
Wednesday Sean came up from Orlando- he’s moving back to Boston and spent a couple of days in DC. We went out to the Wizards home opener against the Nets. The team kept it close but lost the game- a sign of things to come this season? We’ll have to see.
Thursday we ran around to do some last minute Halloween shopping and did some sight seeing on the mall. That night I planned on showing Sean the DC night life and all that if had to offer. We stopped by McFadden’s to check out Amber’s open bar Happy Hour. Sean and I got involved in a beer chugging contest sponsored by Coors Light. Thank goodness it was Coors- I don’t’ think I could slam back a Sam Adams. We met some people from the State Department and went out with them to Heaven and Hell after that. Sean had his A-game on at that point, not only did he get us into the club without paying a cover, we got a hookup for free drinks all night long.
After that night I kept things quiet for Halloween. I went down to Ireland’s Four Fields with the MoCo crew to check out the Scythian show. Our costumes got tons of shout outs from the band. I decided to spend Halloween as Mr. Miyagi from The Karate Kid. The costume ended up looking better than I hoped, and played pretty well to my natural strengths- being Asian.
Last night I continued to keep it chill. After doing some Obama canvassing with LJ and Adam I hung out with Rebecca, Adam, and Sarah for the most intense game of Monopoly I’ve ever played. After playing that game I have to say that we are in a recession- and I’m prepared to build a hotel on St. James Place to survive.
Well I gotta start getting psyched about the Colts/Patriots game- looking forward to Monday Night Football with Falkor Monday and of course Election Day Tuesday!
