25 Things Proves That Memes Will Never Die

Share

When I was in school I would often get chain e-mails from friends (and non-friends.) They came in all sorts of different colors and shapes and often begged you to forward them to a number of people or risk being alone forever or bad luck for the next century. Pretty big threats to conduct such [...]

Oscar Watch: Frost/Nixon

Share

On Martin Luther King day I went into Georgetown with Carrie to see Frost/Nixon, one of the Oscar films I’ve been waiting to see for awhile.

The Ron Howard directed historical thriller tells the story behind 1977 Richard Nixon interviews with David Frost. The film is based on the award winning play of the same name. [...]

Share

Last Friday I was able to watch Slumdog Millionaire with Carrie, and I have to say I’m really glad it was nominated for Best Picture.

The story focused on Jamal Malik (Dev Patel), a Mumbai teen from the slums who reaches the final question on the Indian version of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” The [...]

I thought I was going to get some rest before the next three weeks of production for Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. I was wrong.

Oscar Watch: Burn After Reading

Share

I kick off my 2009 Oscar Watch by watching the Coen brothers’ Burn After Reading.

The dark comedy plays out like a farce, one that I’d love to produce on stage someday. Recently fired CIA analyst Osborne Cox (John Malkovich) is an alcoholic with a bad temper. A draft of his memoirs were put on a [...]

This Is Why I Don’t Watch Lost

Share

I bet you that Lost is a great show. I also bet that Heroes is a great show.

I’m not watching either of them- you want to know why?

If I watch any of those shows I’ll get hooked, and I am flat out booked with life to have any more shows to keep up on.

Take a [...]

I didn’t know what I was going to write this month for NP until I had to call Verizon to fix something on my FiOS bill…

Oscar Watch: Nominations Are In

Share

Well this morning the nominees were announced for the 81st Annual Academy Awards. While I’m only a few movies into my Oscar Watch this year, here’s my instant reactions:

So happy to see Frank Langella nominated for Best Actor- I haven’t seen the rest of the slate but no qualms there.

I think Robert Downey Jr. [...]
