National Treasure

0302091044This was the view of my commute on Monday. Notice the snow? It snowed a bit over last weekend however I only had a two hour delay at work. I really wanted a day off but it looks like some of that Chicago toughness is slowly setting in (even though Obama’s kids got the day off.) I think if Sasha and Malia get the day off- I should too.

Besides the busy weather I’ve been busy myself this week. The first half of the week I have been busy at auditions for The Rabbit Hole over at Foundry. I wasn’t involved for auditions for Cat On A Hot Tin Roof so this was my first tryouts since college. A sizable crowd came out on Tuesday and the competition was pretty good at the callbacks on Wednesday. I can’t wait to start rehearsals today.

Work got a little off the hook the end of last week, had to pull a couple of long nights to finish off a stressful video. But now that’s behind me and I have the rest of the world to look forward to!

dsc01955This weekend I tried to put the week behind me by enjoying the complete turnaround in weather. I met up with Greg, Doug, Katie, Chrystal and others and we walked around the American History Museum. It was cool to see some of the pop culture artifacts, like the Colbert Report portrait.

Later that night Wendi and I met up with Rebecca, Adam, and countless others at 18th Street Lounge to say goodbye to our friend Camille. Alas she is engaged and moving off to Texas. It pains me to see another friendly face leave The District, but I suppose it’s the territory I get for living in such a mercurial city. It was a good night out, things didn’t get too out of hand but I suppose it’s for the best. However I am pretty mad that I almost didn’t get in for wearing my White Adidas shoes. I reason that they aren’t sneakers and they look nice, it’s not like I’m wearing Timberlands. That’s probably why you don’t see me in lounges too often- I’m a slob when it comes to fashion. However nobody on the corner has swagga like us.

“almost didn’t get in for wearing my White Adidas shoes”

And THAT is why Saturday was the first time I have ever been to 18th Street Lounge in 4 years of living in DC. Ugh. Thankfully I am still a Smith Point virgin and vow to stay that way. This isn’t NYC people!

Ya I really only go when Rebecca invites us out there… but I’d love to go to Smith Point just to say I was allowed in.
