Ok now to finish things off my thoughts on my Yahoo! league with Sean, Mike, Stephanie, and a bunch of other friends. I’m excited about the league this year- I think we have a good group put together that should be pretty active. Will I repeat with another championship? Let’s see…
Yahoo! H2H League – Beltway Bandits
- Brian McCann – C: Not only is he in the top tier of catchers, I think he’s the best one (Russell Martin is eventually going to stop stealing bases.) Don’t have to worry about catcher with this guy behind the plate.
- Adrian Gonzales – 1B: I waited to fill my corners but I’m happy that 1B is deep. Gonzales will provide power I expect from a first baseman.
- Chone Figgins – 2B: This is my wheel man, 35-40 SB- lock it up now.
- Michael Young- SS: Hmm I thought I was ok with the mid-tier SS but looking at a slow decline over the past few years doesn’t make me feel happy. He’ll do for now.
- Chris Davis – 3B: While I was sleeping on 1B I was also sleeping on the hot corner. I decided to take a gamble on Mr. Davis- who has a lot of upside if he lives up to the hype.
- Ryan Braun, Alfonso Soriano, Corey Hart – OF: What I love about this group is the Power/Speed combo. All three of these guys are going to anchor my hitting categories.
- Johnny Damon, Andre Ethier, B.J. Upton, Ryan Theriot- UTIL/BN: With Upton on the DL, I was able to add Theriot for some infield depth- which I still have none. I picked up Damon for some steals off the bench but now that I look at my team, I have more than enough speed- maybe I can spin him off for some extra power. Either is my sleeper OF, he may take the next step this year batting with Manny in the lineup.
- CC Sabathia, Josh Beckett, Chris Young, Derek Lowe, Chris Carpenter, Scott Baker – SP: I love my rotation, three aces and Chris Young. Baker is on the DL so I picked up Carpenter who’s the feel good comeback story of the season.
- Bobby Jenks, Brian Fuentes, Heath Bell, Brad Ziegler – RP: I’m feeling good about Jenks, ok about Fuentes and Bell, and I dropped George Sherill whom I drafted at the end of my draft in favor of Ziegler. At least I have four closers- which I’m more than happy with for now.
