If you don’t know who Joe Buck is, you probably recognize his voice. As the lead play-by-play announcer for Fox Sports he’s already amassed quite the resume with two Super Bowls, 11 World Series, 14 League Championship Series and 10 MLB All-Star games all under his belt.
Well it appears that he’s also quite the comic, he’ll be starring in his own comedy show on HBO starting June 15th. Joe Buck Live is going to feature interviews, segments, and skits that will make use of Buck’s wit that we know very little about.
At first I was skeptical if a guy with a broadcast voice could also be funny, but after looking at a couple of YouTube clips, he may be funnier than I thought.
But is a show with that premise really going to work?
I found out that this wasn’t the first time Buck has been on a show. He produced short interview segments for Bud.tv. This one with Paul Rudd makes me wonder if there’s a little bromance going on between the two:
