We are all working for the weekend.
When I originally wrote about the Quarter Life Crisis, I mentioned how we are all in a phase where we have to get through 9-5 but once that weekend hits we are partying just as hard as we work. In fact you may have heard me recently describe my last string of weekends as Weekends of Destruction (a weekend where I go all out 2 or more days.)
Well I’m not the only one that is having all the fun on the weekend.
In my past two weekend recaps I’ve noticed that a whole lot of my friends are engaging in debauchery and I compiled a list of all the Monday morning posts that prove I have the most fun-loving friends around. I think I’m going to keep doing that when I notice it, and I’m going to call it, “Best Weekend Ever.” Just like Best Week Ever, except it’s less funny and it’s not about celebs- just the blogs I’ve run across.
So next time you recap an awesome weekend I’d love to hear about it, because I really think we do have the best weekends ever.
That being said let’s see what I did last week:
Remember when I popped my gentleman’s club cherry earlier this summer? Well Adam and I hit it up again on Friday, this time to show LJ his first strip club before he moves away for Grad School. This time around we went to Camelot, which is a lot more classier than the Royal Palace. The place was better looking, the girls were better looking, hell the bouncers were better looking (however they struck me as odd when they engaged us in a conversation about Star Trek.)
Here’s the kicker though- still no lap dances! It looks like they aren’t allowed in Washington, DC. How odd. I don’t think I’m going to be visiting these places any more, racking up two visits in a year is sure to raise some suspicions.
Other than that the rest of the weekend was very restful. I did some chores around the house and I worked on a Metblogs story and visited all the Safeways in DC. It sounds weird but I wanted to see if they lived up to their nicknames. Yesterday I went to the Cubs/Nationals game with Sarah and met up with Lusty Reader. The Nationals lost as usual, but all my fantasy players did well so I’m happy.
Other adventures had this weekend:
- Lexa traveled to Houston and saw NKOTB, not exactly what I’d do there but I guess you don’t mess with Texas, and Texas loves New Kids.
- I’m sorta proud to say I’ve only given into the temptation of eating a Jumbo slice once. Lusty Reader gave into the temptation in what sounds like one crazy night.
- Seeing the new Harry Potter movie isn’t exactly in the formula for a crazy night, but Liebchen had a movie going experience that is sure to drive you crazy.

One time I went to a strip club. It was awesome. Full nude. I got two lap dances.
This weekend I went grocery shopping! OH MAN. Taking a 5 year old (my nephew) grocery shopping is ALWAYS an adventure. And not usually the good kind…

Jamie, so where do I need to go to find these things?
It sounds like you had an urban adventure, and thank goodness that wasn’t your kid- only because I’ve posted before on how people keep making me think they had babies.
