Wedding Crashers: Baltimore Bachelorette Edition

There are some things you always have to do.

It’s like a tradition that forms over time: standing up at the bottom of the 7th; listening to Gary Glitter and screaming “you suck“; and for me, running into the same guy every 4th of July.

There’s one more tradition that I continued this weekend: paying a woman to shoot a jello shot into your mouth.

It’s totally overrated. The shooter is $5 and probably has no alcohol in it what-so-ever but it’s always a good idea at the time and it’s what you do when you find yourself at Howl At The Moon in Baltimore.

I went up to the home of The Wire Saturday where we took in a game at Camden Yards and then went out to our favorite bar area, Power Plant Live.

The game was great and close, it was still tied in the 9th but we were anxious to get our drink on, so we left. I later found out we missed some late inning heroics as Melvin Mora hit a walk-off home run to beat the Blue Jays.

Sorry Mom, she's going to get married... and she's only half Asian.

However we couldn’t miss a single minute at our favorite piano bar. We found out that our friend Jessie was having a Bachelorette party there too so we crashed it as classy as we could.

All I’ll say is that a great night was had by all, we never go up to Baltimore without a cautionary tale and like the tradition of Jello shooters, we checked that off the list as well.

While I can go out to Adams Morgan and manage to stay away from the Jumbo Slice (well except for this one time), there’s almost always a run to the McDonald’s across the street after a good night out. I didn’t buy anything but the 11 of us managed to pass around a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, each of us taking one bite of it, while we waited for pizza to be delivered to our woefully undersized hotel room. The four slices of cheese and pepperoni was a great idea at 2 AM but I probably don’t need all that in my body in the long run.

Baltimore was a great night and easily highlights a weekend, but combine that night with a Friday where I went from a happy hour at Metro Center to a blogger meet-up in Foggy Bottom; to an apartment in Virginia Square and all of a sudden I really shouldn’t of tried to go to Ashley’s Fringe Festival show on Sunday. But I did and then I napped.

Weekend of Destruction? Sure.

It was also a crazy weekend for my blogger crew as well:

  • I don’t have HBO anymore (but I still love FiOS), Lemmonex still does however and rocked it Sunday Haiku style.
  • When you wake up with glass in your foot, you know you had a good weekend. PQ did after she went to see Pablo Francisco.
  • I may have to come out of Wedding Videographer retirement now that Maxie and LiLu are going to become one.
