I’m back home for a couple of weeks before #Phoventure continues for the rest of the summer. This past weekend I was in Nashville where I brunched at the Nashville Biscuit House. I was considering trying some greasy spoon southern fare when I spotted a certain menu called the Big John: a one-pound chesseburger paired with fries, and cole slaw. The burger is so big it needs two hamburger buns to contain it. Those that manage to finish the burger and sides gets their photo put up on the diner’s “Wall of Fame.”
It was a challenge I just had to take.
It really wasn’t that hard- the challenge was really trying to eat the sides after I finished the burger.
Somewhere along the line I became a geek about trying weird foods like Alligator, Frog, and KFC Double-Downs. I’ve also taken on weird food challenges like a the time I ate a giant breakfast sandwich while I was on the Outer Banks (video of that coming soon).
In no way am I out to become the next Adam Richman, but I guess I’ll do anything to get a photo up on a restaurant wall.
Watch the video of me tackling the giant burger below. I shot the video with my new Droid 2 Global- I’m not a fan of the phone’s highly compressed video codecs but it’s what I had around at the time.
